Gabrielle Danchick was born in Los Angeles, California. She left the States at age 6 to go traveling with her mother and sister: Spain, Ibiza, Italy, England, Morocco. They eventually settled in the South of France, where they lived for nearly a decade. As an adolescent, she returned to the States, then, at 18, moved to New York City, where she became a writer and book editor. She published her first short story at age 26 and received an MFA in lit and creative writing from City College, CUNY, where she won the Alice Stark Award first prize for best short story. Her fiction, poetry, essays, and literary criticism have been published in, among others, Cream City Review; Girls: An Anthology (Global City Press); Promethean; Black Buzzard Review; Paper; papermag.com; New York Post; People; and itsasickness.com. She is currently completing work on a novel and is represented by Richard Abate at 3 Arts Entertainment.

Homo sum: humani nil a me alienum puto. I love extroverts (but have a soft spot for the tenderly shy). I hate people who don't smile back. I can spot an opportunist kilometers away. Some of my enemies have become my best friends.
